Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

I hear this concern a lot and it's totally normal to feel this way! Unless you're a professional model, I don't expect you to know what to do when a camera is pointed at you. I use great prompts to help loosen you up and will give posing direction when needed. But mostly I tell my couples to pretend I'm not there! Just enjoy yourself and I'll capture your authentic emotions throughout the day.

What if I feel uncomfortable in front of the camera and don't know how to pose?

No, it doesn't mean I shoot documentaries for Discovery like my mom first asked. However, there's still a similar concept there. I don't capture a series of faked moments or a completely staged wedding day. Instead I let things unravel as they naturally would. Your wedding day is not a photoshoot. And your family should be remembered as they are, messy hands and all. I act simply as someone documenting what happens, not as someone directing a show. There may be some scenes I'm needed to take charge during (formal family portraits, couples portraits, etc.). But mostly I capture the real stuff.

What exactly is "Documentary Photography"?

Of course! Although I love sharing my work online, your wishes come first. You don't need to give any reason, just let me know and I'll be sure to keep your photos private!

Can I request not to have my photos shared online?
